Velvet is located in the heart of Manchester’s city centre on bustling Canal Street, a short walk from Piccadilly Railway Station amidst lively, vibrant bars. Less than a ten minutes stroll to the the main shopping and business district, Northern Quarter and less than 15 minutes to the AO Arena (Previously Manchester Arena), O2 Apollo and Etihad Stadium.
Train – We’re less than 500 meters from Piccadilly Railway Station. From the exit at station approach head over the footbridge towards the TfGM building, follow the building around until you come to the traffic signals adjacent to the tram lines. Cross over the road heading towards the small open air car park keeping the TfGM building behind you. The very start of Canal Street will be on your right, we’re the second building along.
Manchester Airport – Trains and the Metrolink both depart from Terminal 2 and arrive at Piccadilly Railway Station.
Car/Taxi – Our central location means guests travelling in by public transport can reach the hotel without the need of an additional taxi, if however you’re carrying lots of luggage or don’t fancy a walk in Manchester’s unpredictable weather, we suggest hopping into a traditional Hackney Carriage or using Manchester’s StreetCars minicab service. Those driving to the hotel may use postal code – M1 3HE for the hotels main entrance and M1 3JF for the closest Ncp car park just 2 minutes’ walk to the hotel.
Being located on Canal Street gives Velvet Manchester an excellent city centre location Canal side in the heart of Manchester’s Gay Village. Unfortunately parking is not possible on-site.
There are however lots of car parks surrounding us that are well within walking distance as well as on-road metered parking outside of the Hotel’s entrance on Richmond Street.
